For seven years running, Holt has teamed up with NewSong to raise awareness of orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children overseas. Every year, in jam-packed stadiums from Florida to Nebraska, Winter Jam artists inspire thousands of people to sponsor a child in need.

Make it Stick!

Are there myths or legends you heard a long time ago that have stuck with you all these years? Are there lectures and seminars that you have forgotten because they were mundane at the time you listened to them? In order for an idea to stick, it has to follow these 6 principles:

Simplicity. If an idea or a message becomes too complex, people may lose interest in its concept.
Unexpectedness. For an idea to stick, it has to invade expectations and really surprise people.
Concrete Images. The brain holds onto images that are concrete rather than abstract. Describe your idea in great detail and color.
Credibility. While ideas that stick can sometimes be myths or legends, an idea should still remain in the realm of possibility for it to be believable and therefore stick. Some of the most powerful ideas that stick are ones that leave people thinking “I wonder if that could really happen.”
Emotions. Human beings are wired to feel, embrace and connect through emotions.
Stories. Since the dawn of time, people have loved listening to stories, especially stories filled with emotions and concrete images.
