Deedra Hughes

      

Deedra Hughes founded Hughes Media in 2000 as a media buying and advertising agency. Her clients included both national and local companies like Pulte Homes and Budget Rental Car. After two years, market demands required Hughes Media to begin offering website development, Google Adwords and search engine optimization. Deedra was an early adapter to internet ad buying (pay-per-click), leading her to build a full-service digital agency. Today, Deedra directs a digital team of internet marketers and website developers. Deedra has put together a team of over 20 digital experts whose specialties include SEO, PPC, SEM, marketing automation, email marketing and segmentation, website design and development, and more. Her team is made up of people who are experts in their channel of marketing, and clients’ results-focused. They are trained and encouraged to do the right thing for their clients. Under her leadership, the Hughes Media team has managed over 800 domains and websites worldwide.

As a digital business consultant, Deedra advises various CEOs and presidents on their companies’ branding and positioning on the internet. These services have included analyzing website traffic, reviewing all digital touch points, and finding additional revenue streams. Internet consulting services has been an adjunct to Deedra’s expertise for the past ten years.

She is a graduate of Ohio University with a Communications Marketing degree, is certified in both Google Adwords and Google Analytics, and has been trained in EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) for small to mid-size businesses. She is a member of Vistage, SEMPO, and the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association. She is also the President of the Board of Directors for Cumberland Academy of Georgia. I’ve taken my years of experience and paired that with a constant desire to stay on top of current advertising trends. The result is my passion for creating content across a wide variety of mediums. I enjoy the process of defining an audience and finding a way to effectively deliver my message through all the other noise in their daily lives.

Technology is always a big part of these content plans. Staying on top of emerging technologies ensures that we don’t have to outspend our competition, but we can outsmart them. Angie Sawers

    

Angie is our Art Director, who joined the Hughes Media team in 2014. Angie works closely with clients, junior designers and Hughes Media team members to strategize, direct and create visually appealing and effective design work. In addition, she manages all clients’ social media advertising and optimization utilizing Instagram and Facebook Business Manager, regularly integrating her design abilities into her social strategizing.

Angie is devoted to studying the latest market and industry trends and techniques in design and social media in order to keep her work current and fresh on behalf of the client’s output. She creates graphics that complement our clients’ brands and visually translate their business values and strategies through her awareness of user behavior, composition, and typography. Her design work includes responsive website design, user experience, email marketing, logo designs, banner ad designs, and more.

Angie is an expert in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro, as well as WordPress, which she uses to implement quick design changes on client websites.

Jeni Stephens

Jeni is a Senior Account Manager and brings to Hughes Media more than 20 years of digital and traditional marketing experience from Fortune 500 corporations, agencies, and non-profits. She’s an expert at advocating for clients’ needs, clearly communicating their objectives, and ensuring results. A forward-thinking “idea generator” and seasoned brand strategist, she helps clients define a compelling positioning based on current market data, then creates and maintains their unique brand image and messaging in the marketplace. As the quarterback of the agency, Jeni’s job is to orchestrate innovative digital marketing strategies and plans for clients, keep projects within budget and deadlines, and guide the team through successful implementations ranging from website development and social media campaigns, to content writing and paid search.

With over 10 years of marketing experience including the last few of those spent as an Account Manager, Monica is the go-to gal for all of her client’s needs. Monica has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and understands the intricacies of starting and running a business, enabling her to offer creative, tailor-made solutions for her clients. She finds great importance in enhancing her expertise in the field and is currently acquiring multiple certifications. In addition, she has several years of experience working with not just national but international brands and understands the high standard and quality expected at that level. Monica works closely with each member of the Hughes team in order to ensure that her clients are given the top tier of work that Hughes Media is known for.

Evan Whitehead

Evan Whitehead joined the Hughes Media Digital Agency team as a Marketing Coordinator in early 2022. Evan works directly with the entire Design Team and Account Managers to help manage projects, oversee a steady flow of content across clients, and oversee and build out social media accounts for our partners. Evan works closely with clients to curate their LinkedIn Ad campaigns, as well as their Facebook and Instagram brand reach while also helping to build out marketing campaigns through customized email marketing. Evan is a 2020 graduate from the Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia receiving his bachelor’s degree in advertising. He loves to learn and continually works to research and gain new skills wherever possible in order to expand his repertoire to serve all Hughes Media clients at the highest degree of standard.

Stephanie Braatz

     

Stephanie Braatz is the senior graphic designer at Hughes Media and she oversees our exceptional team of graphic designers and all of the visual materials produced for our clients. Stephanie began her career at BKV (now known as DRUM) in 1992 and has been an integral member of Hughes Media for 15 years. She is exceptional in her ability to translate our clients’ visions from mere concepts to tangible websites, brochures, newsletters, and digital ads. Stephanie holds a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University where she has a rich family history. Her grandfather was the businessman and pharmacist who started Toomer’s Drugstore for which Toomer’s Corner is named. She has two sons, one at Georgia Tech and one at Auburn, and resides in Atlanta with her husband of over 25 years (who also happens to be her college sweetheart).

John is a senior graphic designer at Hughes Media. He is a dedicated creative designer with over 15 years of experience in advertising agencies and enterprising environments. He creates websites, apps, and print solutions by applying modern design techniques, processes, and tools. John has developed a deep understanding of client needs through collaboration and communication to deliver timely, valuable graphic and interactive solutions. An Atlanta native who has traveled the world, he enjoys keeping up with the latest in graphic design trends as well as admiring and pulling inspiration from traditional artwork. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Art Institute of Atlanta and continues to further his education through the General Assembly online program to strengthen his creative acumen to provide the best work for the Hughes Media clients.

Catherine integrates the skills she gained as a classically trained artist and her dual degrees in design/painting to mesh both traditional practices with modern practices to provide our clients with visually enticing work that delivers. She strives to communicate each client’s unique brand through beautiful visuals backed by strategy and well-thought-out planning as well as her skills as an expert in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver creating work that enhances each client’s brand message.

Beginning her career in digital marketing, Crystal immediately found her niche and has continued to excel in the constantly evolving paid search marketing channel. For Crystal, keywords are key and as a PPC specialist, she creates compelling, targeted campaigns that drive traffic to client’s websites while also ensuring goals are being met through optimal conversions. Crystal also helped lead the growth of Fabric.com from a startup to over $50 million in revenue, after which the company was bought by Amazon.com. Crystal is Amazon trained to buy and compete on the Amazon channel against competitors. Crystal was responsible for a $300,000 monthly digital paid budget. She has been on the HM team for 2 years.
