My name is Jacqueline Richtman. This past May, I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in public relations. After graduation, I knew I wanted to discover the ins and outs of real-world digital marketing from a smaller agency setting.
Luckily, I got the opportunity to intern this summer at Hughes Media. The amount I have learned is incredible. At Hughes Media, I have had a multi-faceted experience, learning everything from search engine optimization to how coding works on websites. I have been able to write press releases for a multitude of clients in different industries. With every press release, I have been given helpful critiques, so with each attempt, I get better and better. I have been given lessons in photography and have been able to go on photo shoots with several clients. In addition, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with different programs such as Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook Ad Manager, Hootsuite, and WordPress.
The team at Hughes Media is extremely helpful and encouraging. They find out what you are interested in and encourage you to spend time learning and growing those skills. They do not force you to spend all your time working in areas you don’t like. The Hughes Media team wants you to understand why you are doing assignments and why they are important in the digital marketing realm. There is no getting coffee for people. This internship is full of hands-on experience. It is satisfying to know you are not only learning but are also contributing real work to the company.
